Cacapon Highlands

The Cacapon Highlands community is located 30 minutes outside of Berkeley Springs, and 7 miles west of Great Cacapon at the intersection of Detour Rd. and Trevor Dr.  Established in 1980 by the Tuscarora Land Co., the community is divided into 98 lots, and since 1981 community business has been handled by the Cacapon Highlands Property Owners Association (CHPOA).  This is truly a mountain community, with most properties sitting at elevations ranging from 1400 to 1800 feet on and between Sidling Hill and Purslane Mountain.  The mostly 5 acre lots are heavily wooded, with some lots having beautiful views of  Cacapon Mountain to the south.  The forest is made up predominately of oak species, with a good mix of hickory, maple, walnut, cherry, sycamore and Virginia Pine as well.

Cacapon Highlands is home to many wildlife species.  The many resident mammals include chipmunks, squirrels, raccoons, bobcats, fox, deer and black bears, and there are dozens of bird species populating the woods during all seasons (including Pileated Woodpeckers).  The community  offers peace and solitude, and is a good place for developing strong connections to nature.

The residents come from all over the east coast, and from many different walks of life.  You really do meet all kinds here.
