
CHPOA 39th Annual Meeting June 2, 2019
Board Chair Jim Gleason hosted the meeting, and about 14 community members were present.
After introductory remarks by the board chair, new residents Pat and Chrissy Rice were introduced.
Board member and committee followed, with a report on the budget. Jim Haburcak is the current treasurer, and the 2019 budget can be read in the documents. Ron Johnston then spoke about future road work, that will focus on parts of Justin Lane near the intersection with Samantha.
Merry Johnston spoke about Gypsy Moths, and the need for inspections. Merry will file with the and an inspector show up to look for Gypsy Moth egg masses. For more information see here and here.
Sandra Wilson maintains the CHPOA Facebook page, and she noted the importance of the page for fostering community discussions.

Board chair Jim Gleason then recognized the many volunteers that keep the community in good order. Roger Walker was thanked for his work on mowing the grass, and keeping up with cleaning ditches and filling potholes. Joe Linn was mentioned for his efforts plowing snow, filling potholes, and grading road surfaces. Ron Johnston was thanked for time spent on potholes and ditches, and Sandra Wilson was recognized for her continuing efforts to keep the front entrance looking good. Most recently the bed of day lilies was replaced by a dozen holly shrubs.
There are two new board members, and both are new residents. We are grateful for the willingness of Pat Rice and Ryan Rowe help our with board business.

The Charles R. Biggs Recycling Center is south of Berkeley Springs at 2990 Valley Rd. (rte. 522). Their hours are Friday from 11am to 5pm, and Saturday from 8:30am to 3pm. They accept various plastics, cardboard, paper, metals and glass.

The Hedgesville Landfill at 911 Allensville Rd., Hedgesville, WV accepts trash/debris M-F from 7am to 4pm. Loads are weighed, and the base price is $12.59/load. A 500lb. load is $15, and the price rises from there. Every third Wednesday, you can dispose of up to 525lbs for free. Call 304-754-9153 or go here
Inwood Recycling (Berkeley County Solid Waste Authority) is on Pilgrim St. in Inwood, WV just south of Martinsburg. Their hours are Tu-Sat 9am-5pm. They accept electronics waste (computers, tv's, etc.), ink and toner cartridges, appliances, as well as all the usual recyclable materials. Morgan County residents are welcome. You can also recycle every Saturday from 9am-5pm at Eagle Plaza in Hedgesville. Call 304-267-9370 or go here
